THE WINNER AT THE KENTUCKY DERBY 2026- By Bernard Bujold-  The horse Golden Tempo won the 152nd Kentucky Derby on May 2, 2026. The horse, trained by Cherie DeVaux, crossed the finish line first in what was described as a 23-1 odds longshot victory. Golden Tempo made history among 19 horses as he pulled off an improbable stretch run from the outside to edge out favorite Renegade (5-1) at the finish line and make Cherie DeVaux the first female trainer to have a horse win the Run for the Roses of the Kentucky Derby. Golden Tempo came from well back in the pack after they came around the final turn, but a comfortable race pace meant most of the field came into the stretch with a chance to win with a great kick. It was jockey Jose Ortiz who was able to get the most out of his horse on that closing stretch to outrun Renegade and the rest of the field to the wire.  My favorite horse RENEGADE, almost wins, but Golden Tempo crossed the line first, and as they say in sports: "The one...

THE SPRING SEASON 2026 AND THE HORSES...  By Bernard Bujold-  With each spring season also comes the three horse races for the American Triple Crown. The first race is tonight, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 6:57 pm (live on NBC) with the Kentucky Derby. The favorite horse for Kentucky is RENEGADE, a really good horse. Renegade is a 3-year-old bay colt who is around 5-1 odds favorite to win the 2026 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. But Renegade has one bad marker as he drew Post Position No. 1 (the rail) at the starting gate. This is historically a "cursed" spot; no horse has won the Kentucky Derby from the rail since 1986. Renegade will wear the number 1 (saddlecloth) for the Kentucky Derby race.  To win the Triple Crown, the same horse has to win three races: the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont. A FRIENDLY OLD MAN VISITS HIS FRIEND...  By Bernard Bujold -  It’s easy to see that Donald Trump and King Charles get along wonderfully. Watching them during the king’s official visit to Washington, it seemed as though Donald and Charles were childhood friends. I listened to King Charles’s speech before the U.S. Congress (Tuesday, April 28, 2026), and I must admit that he is an excellent speaker. He is calm, speaks pleasantly and with perfect grammar (in English), and flashes a wry smile when he makes humorous remarks.  I admired Queen Elizabeth for the same calmness and humor that Charles displays. Like mother, like son! All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to spend a weekend with Charles, especially since we both love horses. UN RESTAURANT HISTORIQUE...  Par Bernard Bujold - Un des restaurants historiques du centre-ville de Montréal, situé juste en face du défunt magasin LA BAIE, a fermé ses portes avec l'arrivée du printemps 2026 (7 avril) . Le Burger King n'est plus! Il s'agissait d'un point de repère bien connu, souvent fréquenté après les spectacles ou les soirées à la Place des Arts.  Ce restaurant était aussi le favori du Dr. Luc Boileau, celui qui avait pris la relève du docteur Horacio Arruda, directeur à la Santé publique du Québec et responsable de la gestion de la pandémie. Le Dr Boileau avait fait la manchette en août 2025 alors qu'il avait attaqué verbalement un planchiste à roulettes (trottinette) circulant à grande vitesse sur la rue Ste-Catherine et qui avait failli frapper le Dr. Boileau . PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP AT THE MOVIES-  By Bernard Bujold -  It was like something out of an episode of television movies, NCIS, or The FBI.  A total of 2 600 prominent dignitaries gathered at an American press gala with the U.S. president as the guest of honor, when suddenly gunshots rang out, and all the guests were evacuated in a panic or hid under the tables…  In the end, the shooter was subdued, but he had tried to storm into the ballroom running like a football player carrying the ball. LE HOCKEY ET L'INTELLIGENCE ARTIFICIELLE-  Par Bernard Bujold -  D'ici quelques années, les robots vont être capables de compétitionner avec les meilleurs athlètes humains. Déjà en basket-ball les robots sont supérieurs aux humains. Un robot réussit un panier à chaque lancer du ballon alors que l'humain en manque une proportion ou frappe l'anneau du panier. En course à pied, comme les marathons, un robot est plus rapide qu'un coureur humain. En hockey sur glace, le problème des robots réside dans l'équilibre, mais en matière de prédiction du jeu et de direction de la rondelle, le robot est supérieur. Il faudra trouver une solution probablement magnétique pour le corps du robot sur la surface glacée. On dit que les Japonais travaillent sur le projet...  Entre-temps, le club Les Canadiens semble avoir le vent dans les voiles vers, peut-être, la Coupe Stanley 2026...
