HOCKEY - CANADA / ÉTATS-UNIS -  Par Bernard Bujold -  Après un match disputé à égalité des forces, c’est en première période de prolongation que le Canada a finalement remporté la Confrontation des 4 nations devant les États-Unis, jeudi soir au TD Garden de Boston au compte de 3 à 2.  Une victoire en prolongation est toujours un peu injuste pour le perdant. Le but gagnant n'était pas spectaculaire. Un lancer ordinaire après une mise au jeu en territoire des États-Unis. Les États Unis venait de terminer une attaque très forte en territoire du Canada et pour une raison quelconque le jeu s'est déplacé en territoire US et il y a eu une mise au jeu. Le but est survenu après la mise au jeu. DONALD TRUMP'S INTELLIGENCE?  By Bernard Bujold -  I was recently asked whether I consider Donald Trump to be more intelligent than the average person... Donald is very intelligent, but his exceptional characteristics lie in his character.  In my observation, Donald Trump has a few unique aspects to his character, the very first of which is his great self-confidence. Then there's his profound determination never to give up when faced with an obstacle. Rare is a human being who can resist contradictory events in his life the way Trump can. The theory of Norman Vincent Peale directly inspires these two behaviors, a theory presented in the book The Power of Positive Thinking. Peale was the Protestant minister for Donald's father's family.  A third characteristic of Donald Trump is his great ability to understand the social environment around him and then communicate and impose his message on that environment.  In the end, you could also say that he's a very luc...

L’AVENIR DU CANADA…  Par Bernard Bujold -  J’ai pu entendre Mark Carney, le candidat à la chefferie du Parti libéral du Canada lors d’une entrevue en français sur Radio-Canada. Je dois admettre que j’ai été impressionné! Le personnage est élégant, calme et sympathique, mais surtout il est précis dans ses réponses sur l’avenir du Canada, et sans aucune démagogie. De plus, il dit connaître Donald Trump de l’époque où il dirigeait la Banque d’Angleterre...  Je dirais que Pierre Poilièvre est un homme malchanceux. Lui qui avait à portée de main la chaise de Premier ministre, voilà qu’on la lui enlève…  Je prédis un gouvernement majoritaire Mark Carney dès le printemps prochain… À suivre!

LA FIN DU VOYAGE -  Par Bernard Bujold-  À chaque semaine, un voisin, une personnalité ou une connaissance quitte le voyage de la vie. Il y a eu lundi Antonine Maillet et ce matin c’est mon voisin…  La mort en soi n’est pas tragique car il s’agit d’une fin, mais s’il faut agoniser cela devient une grande tragédie de vie comme dans le cas de mon voisin qui avait des problèmes de santé depuis plusieurs années et qui a vécu sa dernière semaine dans un corridor d’un grand hôpital montréalais…  S’il me faut mourir un jour, j’espère que ma mort sera rapide...

American Primeval is a six-episode series that explores the American West in 1857. The show is a fiction and dramatization of the collision of culture, religion, and community as people fight for control. In 2025, this power struggle is even more intense than ever, all over the planet... For the photographer that I am, the images of American Primeval are exceptional! LENDEMAIN DE LA TEMPÊTE...  Le lendemain d'une tempête de neige est toujours un moment magique. Le soleil sur la neige offre un spectacle unique, profondément artistique, et d’une grande beauté . LA NEIGE EST TOMBÉE…  Par Bernard Bujold -  Durant toute mon enfance en Gaspésie, j’ai vécu des hivers entouré de neige et dans l’ambiance du crépitement du poêle à bois. Ma corvée d’adolescent était de m’assurer qu’il y ait toujours dans la maison une provision de bois pour alimenter le feu.  J'adorais me bercer en écoutant le bruit du bois de chauffage qui brûle!  Bon hiver 2025...

THE MONEY OF THE AMERICANS ...  By Bernard Bujold -  It is said that money is the lifeblood of any war...  I witnessed first-hand the great difficulties of running a government when I was on Brian Mulroney's team in 1984. Brian's objective was clear: “Make the Canadian government as profitable as a private enterprise!” Mulroney had rapidly abandoned this impossible task!  Forty years later, in 2025, Donald Trump believes he can accomplish this challenge in the United States with the help of Elon Musk and save the government money.  We'll have to wait and see, but the financial war has begun. THE ART OF LYING -  By Bernard Bujold -  In the end, we can conclude that everyone is a bit of a liar (except me...) But there are two kinds of liars... There's the one who lies with a sense of humor because it's part of his lifestyle, and there's the other liar who wants to hide the truth from us. I hate the second category...  Donald Trump falls into the first category, and he reminds me of the old florist who used to set up shop in front of my downtown office some years ago! The old florist used to tell me he had the most beautiful flowers in the world... These humorous liars aren't dangerous because they're never personal in their lies, and we know they're playing with us and their truth by embellishing their stories. You just have to know it...  But the liar who claims to tell us our truth and who hides reality from us to better manipulate us directly scares me. I sometimes fall victim to this kind of city liar, as I call them. Neighbors, shopkeepers...

WINNERS AND LOSERS - By Bernard Bujold -  It wasn't meant to be...  All observers were convinced that last year's reigning Super Bowl champions would dominate the 2025 edition. It was a surprise defeat and a lot of disappointed people... Title challengers, the Philadelphia Eagles, won 40-22 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Taylor Swift regretted coming to the stadium; Donald Trump left early at 9 p.m. after the first half; and Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are both rumored to be considering retirement!  Conclusion: Victory is profound happiness, but defeat is great sadness...
