THE MONEY OF THE AMERICANS ...

It is said that money is the lifeblood of any war... 
I witnessed first-hand the great difficulties of running a government when I was on Brian Mulroney's team in 1984. Brian's objective was clear: “Make the Canadian government as profitable as a private enterprise!” Mulroney had rapidly abandoned this impossible task! 
Forty years later, in 2025, Donald Trump believes he can accomplish this challenge in the United States with the help of Elon Musk and save the government money. 
We'll have to wait and see, but the financial war has begun. To be continued!

THE TURTLE AND THE RABBIT...  By Bernard Bujold - The American presidential campaign of 2024 is reminiscent of that of 2016, and is also reminiscent of Lafontaine's fable “The Hare and the Tortoise”...  In the 2016 US presidential election, Hillary Clinton was comfortably leading the polls, and the Democrats had even prepared the victory party in a grand New York hotel.  Donald Trump, however, had been strategic and won with the highest number of electoral votes, despite a popular vote in Hillary's favor.  In 2020, Joe Biden narrowly won the election because of the COVID crisis, which traumatized the whole world and created a kind of fear of the Trump character.  In 2024, neither candidate dominates the campaign, except that observers recognize that Trump has a detailed policy agenda, unlike Harris, who occupies the “novelty” chair.
