I listened to Taylor Swift's new album, which has just been released. As much as I listened to THE TORTURED POET DEPARTMENT (2024) on repeat, the new album THE LIFE OF A SHOW GIRL (2025) leaves me feeling lukewarm. The lyrics seem less poetic to me, and the musical rhythms less unique. We'll have to wait and see what the critics say, but it's clear to me that the new album is not comparable to FOLKLORE (2020) or 1989 (2014).
My favorite song on the new album: THE FATE OF OPHELIA.
