UN LONG WEEK-END ESTIVAL -

Ce week-end sera un long congé estival et l’agenda est chargé… 
Il y a d’abord un party avec les amis ce dimanche 28 juin en après-midi, puis mercredi 1er juillet ce sera la Fête du Canada. Le soleil sera au rendez-vous, mais malheureusement il y aura quelques averses… 
On peut cependant se dire que ce sera bon pour les arbres… 
Bon congé!

GILBERT ROZON ET SON OEUVRE-  Par Bernard Bujold -  Les créations de notre société sont toujours l'oeuvre d'individus et jamais des oeuvres de société.  Le Festival Juste pour rire était l'oeuvre d'un homme, Gilbert Rozon, et son élimination a aussi éliminé sa création. Le journal LE DEVOIR présente un reportage complet sur ce sujet et il démontre que Juste pour rire est à sa fin de vie, ou presque...  J'ai très bien connu Gilbert Rozon, mais nous n'étions pas des amis. Je m'entendais beaucoup mieux avec les quatre soeurs de Gilbert, dont en particulier celle qui avait vécu à New York pendant plusieurs années. Les quatre soeurs appuyaient leur frère, mais tout le monde reconnaissait que l'âme était Gilbert. Le personnage avait de grandes faiblesses humaines, mais il était un créateur unique, pour ne pas dire extraordinaire.  Est-ce que la société a gagné en l'éliminant? THE TURTLE AND THE RABBIT...  By Bernard Bujold - The American presidential campaign of 2024 is reminiscent of that of 2016, and is also reminiscent of Lafontaine's fable “The Hare and the Tortoise”...  In the 2016 US presidential election, Hillary Clinton was comfortably leading the polls, and the Democrats had even prepared the victory party in a grand New York hotel.  Donald Trump, however, had been strategic and won with the highest number of electoral votes, despite a popular vote in Hillary's favor.  In 2020, Joe Biden narrowly won the election because of the COVID crisis, which traumatized the whole world and created a kind of fear of the Trump character.  In 2024, neither candidate dominates the campaign, except that observers recognize that Trump has a detailed policy agenda, unlike Harris, who occupies the “novelty” chair.
